range from insectivores to primates. The Mammals of Arabia
(D. Harrison and P. Bates, 1991) is the most comprehensive
book that has been published in the region. Scientific and
common names are listed here as well as their distribution
in the Arab World, which is indicated between brackets. More
over, marine as well as terrestrial mammals will be covered
in this list. The known threatened species will be also highlighted.
