Convention Relating to Civil Liability in the field of Maritime Carriage of Nuclear Material

Objectives:
To ensure that the operator of a nuclear installation will be exclusively liable for damage caused by a nuclear incident occurring in the course of maritime carriage of nuclear material.

Summary of Provisions:

• Persons other than the operator of a nuclear installation exonerated from this liability.
  
• The operator's liability extended to cover damage to the means of transport and to the installations.
