Environmental Events and Achievements in 2002

GPIC completed yet another successful and eventful year. It is a pleasure to look back on various environmental events and achievements during the year 2002.

  1. Approval was obtained from the Executive Management for establishment of a BD 5,000 per year research and development fund, which will be utilized to encourage schools or individual students to undertake environmental projects, investigations or research work.

  2. The tree donation campaign enjoyed an overwhelming response from the employees. More than 530 trees were donated by the employees. These trees are thriving and have survived the harsh summer conditions. Another innovative idea, which was coupled to this scheme, was to attach plaques on the trees with names and badge numbers of the employees who donated the trees. The Board of Directors was very happy with the greenery projects and requested the Committee to further enhance the greenery around the complex.
