Protect the biological diversity and natural habitats of the area Protection and reintroduction of endangered species Research, education, tourism and recreation.

National Commission for Wildlife Conservation and Development (NCWCD)

Geographical aspects:
Six divisions: Alhawj, Almathaheer, Alasafia (according to the city name), Aldafiha, Gurrb and Albraisiat (according to the two mountains present there).

Flora:
A diversity of trees, shrubs and perennial plants.

Fauna:
A diversity of birds, mammals and reptiles. The Reem, Gazella subgutturosa and other threatened species like Canis lupus, Gazella doracas, Oryx leucoryx and Acinonyx jubatus.
