29o22ŽN, 47o49ŽE near the west end of Kuwait Bay.

Objective:
Maintain the genetic and ecological diversity of its flora and fauna.
Resting site for migratory birds.

Public Authority for Agriculture and Fisheries.

Geographical aspects:
The only significant fresh water wetland in Kuwait. It is a man-made wetland comprising sewage lagoons and reed-beds of Phragmites, effluent coming from Al-Jahra town and flowing across sandy sabkhah to the sea. The pools are shallow and permanent, but show marked seasonal fluctuations in size.

Flora:
The only significant stands of freshwater aquatic vegetation in Kuwait.

Fauna:
At least 220 species of migratory and resident birds have been recorded where17 species of them are birds of prey.
