Geographical aspects:
The reserve is part of Majame Al-Hadhb mountains southwest
of Al Hamra Mountains, 80 km southwest of Ranbah Town.
There are many valleys e.g. Al Hamel valley and Al Farsah
valley. Granite mounds rising up to 400m and due to
the weathering effect on them caves had formed which
maintain rainwater for long time. Volcanic mountains
present in the south, west and center of the reserve
cannot maintain rainwater in their caves due to their
ability to absorb high amount of heat.
Flora:
Acacia sp. is the major tree abundant near the granite
mounds in addition to many shrubs e.g. Lycium shawii
and Indigofera spinosa.
Fauna:
Hyaena hyaena (rare) and other species of mammals, reptiles
and birds.
