Geographical aspects:
It's in the Aseer region 20 km from Abhaa, characterized by sharp slopes facing the North, South and West. Granite rocks are the most dominant with shallow water channels grooved in them due to rainfall.

Flora:
The slopes are covered by forests of Juniperus excelsa with few other plant species.


Fauna:
From the nine endemic species of birds found in the Arabian peninsula eight are found in the reserve alone, common mammals are the Baboon Papio hamadryas, and Felis caracal.
